Sean Roush will graduate from Alton High School in 2025. He is the son of Scott and Mellisa Roush and the brother of Sage and Seth. If he had to describe himself in three words, they would be commiserative, authentic, and disciplined.
As a child, Sean dreamed of becoming a doctor, but over time, his ambitions shifted toward a career in military service or law enforcement. After high school, he plans to either serve in the military or pursue a degree in criminology, preparing himself for a career that allows him to protect and serve.
Sean envisions himself working in law enforcement in southern Missouri, staying close to home, and starting a family. He has several big goals on his bucket list, including restoring his ’79 Trans Am, visiting Europe, and learning to fly a plane.
One of Sean’s proudest achievements happened in just 15 minutes—his very first hunting trip resulted in a successful shot of his first deer, a moment he’ll never forget. Another cherished memory from high school was entering his sophomore Biology class, where he formed lifelong friendships and created countless memories.
Outside of school, Sean stays active in the gym, golfing, collecting baseball cards, fishing, and hunting. He is also involved in baseball and FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), both of which have been important parts of his high school experience. His favorite classes have been Sophomore Biology, Ag Mechanics & Carpentry. as well as American History.
When asked if he would change anything about his school years, Sean stands firm in his belief that everything happens for a reason and that he has grown from every experience.
Through it all, the person who has inspired him most is his father. Sean admires his dad’s selflessness, work ethic, and unwavering commitment to family, friends, and faith. He strives to live by those same values and is grateful to have such a strong role model.
