Happy National School Counseling Week!
School counselors are such an important part of the educational system and often go unrecognized for their hard work. Let's take this week to celebrate and appreciate the amazing things our school counselors do for us every day. Whether it's providing guidance and support, helping students make the best decisions, or just making sure everyone is on track to succeed, school counselors are an integral part of our educational experience. Thank you for all that you do!

Hey Beta Students: I am going to be sending in our registration for state convention tomorrow morning. If you have not paid your $30.00 registration fee, you can bring it Monday to school and pay then. If you have decided not to go, or if you never signed up and are planning to go, please email me before 8:00 tomorrow morning and let me know your plans. Also, I have uploaded our competition sheet, please email me with your choice of competition, or I will just sign you up for one. The academic tests will be taken this month in my classroom during the testing window.

The inclement weather continues to prohibit safe traveling conditions through the district. Therefore, for the safety of our children and staff, Alton R-4 School District will remain closed on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Please stay safe!

Due to the expectation for additional ice and treacherous travel conditions, the Alton R-IV school district will be closed Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Stay safe!

Hey Alton High School Beta parents,
If your student is planning to go to state convention the first weekend of March, make sure to send their $30.00 registration fee to school with them tomorrow if they have not paid yet. Whether we have school or not on Wednesday, I still have to send in the money on February 1. Checks can be made out to Alton Schools.

It looks as though the gravel roads will not be up to par for Friday morning travel. For this reason, the Alton R-IV school district will not be session on Friday, January 27, 2023. Bus drivers, students, teachers, instructional staff, the nurse, counselors, and cafeteria workers will not report. Administrators, Central Office, custodial, and maintenance personnel should report.
Have a great four day weekend!
Dr. Julie Williams, Superintendent
