Reminder: Enrollment begins tomorrow at Alton R-IV. New student enrollment for grades Preschool-12th will take place on August 5th and 6th from 9:00-3:00 in the foyer at Alton Elementary. Please bring an immunization record, birth certificate, and proof of residency for all students being enrolled. Parents should also bring copies of any legal documents, such as custody agreements. In addition, any parent who wishes to enroll his or her child in virtual learning must drop by the school to complete a virtual instruction enrollment form. Parents wishing to homeschool are also required to complete a homeschool form. If you are choosing either option, a form must be completed and submitted by August 6th at 3 pm. Counselors will be on hand in the elementary foyer to assist with this process on August 5th and 6th. In order to maintain social distancing, we are asking that only one guardian per family attend enrollment days. Students are not required to be present to enroll and should not attend if at all possible.

We’ve had a great 4 weeks of summer school with lots of learning and lots of fun! Tomorrow will be our last day! It will be slippy slide day, so come ready to end the month on a great note!

We again want to take this opportunity to thank any of the local businesses, churches or individuals that have made donations for our summer school program. The snacks have been a huge hit with the kids! The attendance prizes have also been very much appreciated! We live in a very caring and giving community! We are lucky and blessed!

High school and Jr. High athletes: Free physicals will be July 23rd from 12-7 at the OMC Parkway center. Please read the attached link as there is important info regarding procedures due to covid precautions. Physical forms can be picked up in the superintendents office. If you had a physical last year, you will not need one this year as they are good for two years. On Fridays, we recognize students who have perfect attendance through a random drawing! We are very fortunate to have several local businesses who have donated random prizes to help us encourage kids to be excited about coming to summer school. Joint Statement on Re-Opening from the Oregon County School Districts

Fifth graders built a "water pipeworks system" at summer school today! We love having our kiddos back at school and can’t wait to see what else they learn this summer 💙💛💙

Summer School will begin at Alton on July 6. Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:40. Drop-off can begin at this time. Some things you need to keep in mind: Student temperatures will be scanned at the drop-off spot by the multi-purpose building. Parents do not need to leave until we have scanned each child. Hand sanitizer will be readily available for all students and staff to use throughout the day in areas all over campus. PLEASE send a water bottle with your child. We will not be using water fountains to limit any potential exposure. Every effort will be made to clean and sanitize surfaces throughout the building to the best of our ability. Teachers, janitors and cafeteria staff will be utilizing cleaning wipes throughout the day to help in the cleaning and sanitizing. We do have several other tools that we will be receiving to ensure additional safety precautions. If your child is running a fever, do not send them to school. If you have to give them Tylenol for fever, do not send them to school. All students must be fever-free for 24 hours prior to returning to school. Pickup of students will be through the multi-purpose building beginning at 2:45 in the afternoons. Please circle around the high school, and we will get your child out to you quickly. Please remain in your vehicles during drop-off and pick-up.

Very important! We need to know as soon as possible who is planning to attend Summer School 2020! Please get registered by Friday, July 3, 2020. Classes begin on July 6 and continue through July 30. Breakfast and lunch will be served at no cost to parents. Safety precautions will be strictly observed to ensure that students and staff stay healthy and safe, including monitoring temperatures and strictly adhering to cleaning protocols across the campus. Temperature screenings and health observations will be performed daily upon entry to campus. We will have some procedural changes that will be relayed to you in the future. To prepare for the staffing of our classrooms and to keep lower class sizes, it is EXTREMELY important that we register as many students now. Orders for prom portraits can still be made! Have your order form dropped off at the superintendent's office by 2pm on friday, the 3rd. If you do not have an order from, the forms can be found there. Reminder: Food distribution for this week will occur Monday, June 22, 2020 from 5:00-6:00pm at Alton Elementary. The current food distribution program does not have any income guidelines and is open to any children age 18 and under that choose to participate. Additionally, children do not have to be present in the vehicle at the time of meal pickup to receive the items. This will be the last food distribution under the current program regulations that run through June 30, 2020. Regular summer breakfast and lunch options will coincide with Summer School which will occur July 6-30, 2020.
