
Senior parents: I messed up and made the senior ads due during Thanksgiving break. They will be due the first day we are back, which is December 2nd. Let me know if you have any questions!

We have learned from the city that parts of the Alton campus will be without water for a period of time tomorrow. Please have elementary students bring water bottles, if possible.

2nd Term Progress Report Cards are being emailed this morning. If a parent does not have an email address on file, the student should receive a printed version of his/her grades.

No school at Alton R-4 on Tuesday November 12, 2019.

Alton R-IV will dismiss at 2:00pm on Monday November 11, 2019 based on the snowfall and frozen precipitation forecast.

SOPHOMORES: If you think you would be interested in learning more about classes at South Central Career Center for your junior and senior year, we will be going on a tour on Thursday, November 21st. We will ride up on the Career Center bus and return in time for lunch at school (leave at 8:00 AM and return by 11:45 PM). We will tour both school sites for programs such as Culinary Arts, Health Occupations, Construction, Welding, Creative Design, IT, Auto Mechanics and Body Collision. See Mrs. Gilliland for a permission form and course assignment sheet. These will be due by Tuesday, November 19th.

SENIORS & JUNIORS: Baptist Bible College Recruiter will be here on Wednesday, December 4th at 2:50. Please sign the list on Mrs. Gilliland's bulletin board if you would like to meet with the rep.

October was National Principal’s Month. National Principal’s Month is an opportunity to say “thank you” to principals everywhere in honor of their hard work and dedication. At Alton School, we are lucky to have Mrs. Langston, Mrs. Miller, and Dr. Steele. All three of you are wonderful Principals! Thank you for making Alton R-IV a better place 💙💛💙

Dual Enrollment forms for MSU-West Plains Spring semester are available from Mrs. Gilliland. Students who are interested in taking a dual enrollment course in the spring will need to return the forms to her by Tues., Nov. 19th. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Gilliland.

Thank you to Alton Methodist Church for the snacks! Also, the church provided three of my students with a warm coat this winter. We are lucky to live in a such a generous community!


The fifth grade classes had a combined 777 lessons at 80% or higher in Reading Plus. This is such a great accomplishment!
