Transportation Policy: To clarify any confusion, we are asking that parents please provide a primary address, one that your child/children will go to every day. Then, please provide a secondary address that children will go to in an emergency. If an address change needs to be made, please do so in the office. If you have any questions, please call the office.

*August 13, 2019 prior to the Alton R-IV Open House: The Alton Public School Foundation will host a hotdog supper which includes a hotdog, chips, and drink for $2.00 in the Alton Elementary Multi-Purpose Building beginning at 5:30 pm. Spring Dipper Ice Cream will also be available for purchase as well.

FYI: The bus drivers will be at Open House tomorrow night (6:00-7:30). Please stop by their table in the elementary lobby if you have questions about pick up and/or drop off times.

Welcome back! We are going to host a Kindergarten Meet and Greet on Monday, August 12 at 5:30 in the multi-purpose building. We hope to provide parents with the chance to learn about some important information to help you and your child have a successful year. Bring supplies and you can leave them in the rooms and meet your teachers.

Meet Mrs. Lacie Willard- Second Grade Teacher Hometown: Westwood, CA High School: Yerington High- Nevada College: University of Arkansas Experience: taught 3rd grade for 4 years in Fort Smith, AR Certifications: CGI math, Effective Literacy, StarLab portable planetarium Birthday: April 19th Favorites: Italian food, Target, all berries, green beans, turtle candy, sour patch kids, monster cookies, key-lime pie, hazelnut and vanilla coffees, vanilla root beer, poppies, cherry almond scents, the color purple, and the Boston Bruins. She and her husband have one son, Dean (4 mths.) and live in Alton.She has two dogs (Fonzy and Bart) and one cat (Birdie). She has a farm full of chickens, ducks, geese, goats, and sheep. Meet Mrs. Andrea Foerster- HS Science Mrs. Foerster lives in Van Buren, MO and also taught at the Van Buren School District. Her husband, Mr. Brian Foerster, is our high school math teacher. Birthday: March 1st Favorites: Panera Bread, Hobby Lobby, sushi, pineapple, Almond Joy, peanut M&Ms, Oreos, german chocolate, coffee, Dr. Pepper, cinnamon scents, daisies, the color teal, and the STL Cardinals. She has two children (Ella Rose & Daisy). Her pets include three cats, and two dogs (Rosie & Franz). In her spare time she likes to garden, crochet, and read. Meet Mrs. Amy King-Special Education Paraprofessional Hometown: Alton, MO High School: Alton, MO College: SBU-Mtn. View Birthday: July 1 Favorites: Chili's, TJ Maxx, fried chicken, grapes, Reese's pb cups, chips, chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake, McCafe coffee, Mtn. Dew, vanilla scents, sunflowers, the color yellow, and the Royals. She has three daughters (Michaela, Aubrey, & Jorja). Her pets include two cats (Ellis & Demon) and a yorkie named Millie. She likes to watch movies and the Hallmark channel, read, and play with her granddaughter.

Meet Mrs. Molly Chester- Sixth Grade Teacher (ELA) Hometown: Thayer, MO High School: Thayer, MO College: MSU-Springfield Experience: first year Birthday: January 17th Favorites: Olive Garden, Target, pizza, apples, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake, Dr. Pepper, cinnamon scents, daisies, the color blue, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. She has one dog named Lulu. She loves to travel, read books, go to the river, fish, and spend time with family. Wish list for classroom: more books!

She and her husband live in Alton and have three children (Kamdyn, Raina, and Kashton). She has six dogs and three cats. Had a great first meeting with the "Open Arms" group this morning. Their goals are to welcome new students and be a contact for them, to be a resource of info for clubs and activities, and to help other students who might be struggling with an issue or just need a buddy.

She lives in Summersville and has four children (Connor, Tara, Gabriel, and Isobella). She has one basset hound named Roscoe. She and her husband have three children (Emiley, Noah, and Adeline) and three pets (Lola, Bobcat, and Sugar). She enjoys traveling, reading books, baking, sewing, and hiking.

Meet Mrs. Valerie Pitts- Fifth Grade Teacher (Science/Social Studies) Hometown: Mtn. Home, AR High School: Mtn. Home Colleges: MSU-WP, Arkansas State, Williams Baptist Experience: 17 years between Thayer, Kosh, and Hartville Birthday: October 20th Favorites: Olive Garden, Amazon, pizza, strawberries, pink Starburst, chocolate chip cookies, funfetti cake, Mtn. Dew, Gerber daisies, the color purple, the smell of Gain original, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. She and her husband, Matt, have two boys (Gaige, 16 and Easton, 12) and lives in Thayer. She enjoys watching her boys play sports, traveling, and reading books.

Meet Mrs.Jana Gauley- Sixth Grade Teacher (Math) Mrs. Gauley graduated from and lives in Bakersfield, MO. She attended college at Arkansas State and MSU-Springfield. She has 25 years experience in education and has worked at Gainesville and Bakersfield School Districts. She is a former high school softball coach. Her birthday is March 2nd and she loves to shop at any mall and Hirsch's. She enjoys hamburgers, apples, butterscotch candy, Clif Bars, black coffee, tea, lilies, the color blue, pumpkin pie candles, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She has two boys (Chris and Taylor Bales) and loves spending time with her four grandsons. Her pets include Toby, Bigs, Frankie, Cash, Max, and Jo Jo. She prefers being at home and working outside on the farm. Her classroom wish list includes Expo markers, grid paper, #2 pencils (not mechanical), and sticky notes.

Meet Mrs. Jerri Williams-First Grade Teacher Mrs. Williams lives in Alton, but graduated from Van Buren, MO. She graduated from the College of the Ozarks and has been a very active substitute teacher at Alton Elementary for many years. This will be her first year teaching. Some of her favorites include Colton's and Las Margaritas restaurants. She loves tacos, watermelon, chocolate, goldfish crackers, chewy chocolate chip cookies, yellow cake with chocolate frosting, sweet tea, Coke, pink roses, the color pink, and her favorite sports teams are the Alton Comets and VB Bulldogs. She does not like coffee, but loves a beach vibe smell. Mrs. Williams and her husband have two girls (Hattie, 9; Hadlee, 4). She has several cows and a dog named Sammie. Her birthday is August 27th and she loves to shop at Maurices, Target, and Dollar Tree. She enjoys having fun with her girls, watching movies, and spending time at the river.
